How we verified this

Last checked by hand
October 26, 2026. Every official doc link on this page was opened on that date and answered HTTP 200, and the fee, error-code, custody and API statements were re-read from those pages the same day.
Who checked it
Concept211 (@Concept211), who writes and maintains this site. It is a one-person publication with no relationship to GMGN. A figure we could not reach a primary source for is labeled unverified on the page instead of estimated, and the re-check schedule is set out in the methodology. If something here looks wrong, tell us and we will re-check it.

GMGN's official documentation lives at docs.gmgn.ai/index, a GitBook site GMGN titles "GMGN Tutorial." This page is a map of it, not a copy: one row per official doc, a sentence on what it covers, and a link to our plain-English explainer for the same topic. Every link was checked live on October 26, 2026.

GMGNGuide is an independent site with no relationship to GMGN. When anything here disagrees with GMGN's own pages, trust GMGN's pages and tell us.

GMGN's docs are thorough on features and thin on consequences. The fee page says the trading fee is 1%, but it is the slippage and on-chain fees that usually cost more on a small trade. The wallet page says private keys cannot be exported on any chain, and only reads as a custody decision once you know what that rules out. The explainers linked below fill in that second half.

Where Are GMGN's Official Docs?

There is one documentation site, docs.gmgn.ai/index, with a sidebar that runs from tutorials and the API at the top, through each section of the web app (Meme, New Pair, Trending, Discover, Holding, Follow, Alert), down to the Telegram bots, auto trading, security checks and partner programs.

It is easier to use than it looks:

  • docs.gmgn.ai/index/llms.txt lists every page with a link: 64 of them when we read it on October 26, 2026.
  • Every page also has a Markdown version. Add .md to the end of any doc URL and you get the page as plain text, which is far easier to search than the rendered version with its screenshots.
GMGN's official documentation site, titled GMGN Tutorial, open on the Quick Start page. The left sidebar lists the GMGN Agent API, Featured Icon Definition, Quick Start, the Telegram Bot List, Q&A and Safety Tip, followed by the web app sections Meme, New Pair, Trending, Discover and Holding.

The docs are written mostly as screenshots with short captions, and several pages are translated from Chinese. They tell you which button does what. They rarely tell you what a setting costs you or what you give up by accepting a default, which is the gap this site tries to fill.

What the Docs Say, in Plain English

Getting started and the wallet

The Quick Start page is a tour of the web app: where Trending and New Pair live, how to paste a contract address into search, and where the chain switcher sits. The multi-wallet page explains the three login routes (Connect Telegram, Connect Phantom and app scan-code login) and notes that Anti-MEV and GMGN's automation only work through them, not through a plain browser-extension wallet.

What the docs do not stress is that those wallets are GMGN's to hold. Our Telegram connect and funding guide walks through the first deposit, and how to trade on GMGN covers the first order with settings that will not get it sandwiched.

Fees

The fees and settings page states it plainly, typo included: "GMGN only charges a 1% handling fee for a single transcation, and there are no additional charges." The same page says Anti-MEV needs a priority fee of at least 0.002 SOL. We read both lines on October 26, 2026.

That 1% is real but rarely the biggest cost. Priority fees, tips and slippage are set by you, are not collected by GMGN, and on a small memecoin trade they usually cost more than the platform fee. GMGN fees explained works through the arithmetic.

Trenches, sniping and copy trading

The New Pair and Migrated Snipe pages describe the feeds and the automatic buy. The Copy Trade page describes how a copy task is built. Neither says much about what a copied wallet's trades cost you in fees and slippage. Our trenches and sniper guide and copy trading guide cover the settings and the failure modes.

Security and custody

The CA Security Checks page defines each check on a token page and opens with a warning worth repeating: the checks "are for reference only and cannot guarantee 100% accuracy." The wallet import and export page carries the most important sentence in the whole documentation set: all chains "are prohibited from exporting private keys; Wallets imported from outside also can't export private keys."

That rule is worth knowing before you decide what to deposit. Is GMGN safe? covers what it means in practice, and the high risk behavior lock explains the timed holds that follow a security change.

Errors

The failure codes page is the most useful page GMGN publishes. Each failed trade or limit order carries a lettered code, and the page gives the cause and the fix for each. Why your GMGN transaction failed works through the same codes with examples.

The API

The Agent API page is the developer entry point. You generate a key pair yourself, upload the public key on gmgn.ai to create an API key, and then call GMGN from an AI agent through its MCP and Skills tools or from a terminal with npx gmgn-cli. The page lists token data, candlesticks, trending lists, portfolio reads and swaps. On October 26, 2026 its supported-chains table listed Solana, BSC and Base, with Ethereum and other chains marked as in progress.

GMGN's Agent API documentation page. It explains real-time on-chain data, research metrics that flag snipers, insiders and bundled wallets, and a hosted wallet model with an IP whitelist, followed by a Quick Start for creating an API key and key pair.

Two limits are easy to miss. GMGN's Q&A page says it has "no plan to open data API at present," and offers a data crawling IP whitelist to partners who bring trading volume instead. And a free API key needs a minimum account balance, which is the cause of the insufficient_assets error covered in the transaction failed guide.

What GMGN's Docs Do Not Cover

Some questions have no answer anywhere in the 64 indexed pages, as read on October 26, 2026:

  • GMGN runs a perpetuals section on its web app, but the docs have no page for it. The rules sit in its Perpetual DEX Terms and GMUSDC Terms. Our perpetual futures guide reads those documents.
  • No GMGN token, points program or airdrop appears in the docs. The GMGN token question covers the lookalike tokens using the name.
  • The docs explain the fee settings but not that GMGN's PnL display leaves fees out, which is why a trade can show a gain and still lose money.

Which GMGN Doc Answers My Question?

Where do I check GMGN's current fee?

On the fees and settings page. It states the 1% trading fee and the Anti-MEV floor. Check it again before sizing a trade, because GMGN can change the page without notice.

Why did my trade or limit order fail?

Look up the code on the transaction and limit order failure page. The most common causes are slippage set too low, too little SOL left for gas, and a limit price that was touched only on a wick.

Can I export my GMGN private key?

No. The wallet import and export page says private key export is prohibited on every chain, including wallets you imported. Funds leave only through GMGN's withdrawal flow on the website.

Which Telegram bot is really GMGN's?

Only the handles on the GMGN Telegram Bot List. The Q&A page adds that GMGN group admins never send the first private message, so treat any unsolicited DM as a scam.

What do the little icons next to a token mean?

The Featured Icon Definition page lists them, and our GMGN glossary explains the interface terms panel by panel.

How This Page Was Checked

Last checked against GMGN's documentation on October 26, 2026. Every official link above was opened that day and answered HTTP 200, and every quotation was read from the Markdown version of its page. We re-check the map when GMGN's index changes size or a linked page moves. For the bigger picture, start with what GMGN is.

Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. GMGN's own documentation and app are the authority on how its product works today.

Methodology and reuse

The page count (64 indexed pages), the 1% trading fee, the 0.002 SOL Anti-MEV priority fee floor, the private key rule and the Agent API's supported chains (Solana, BSC and Base) are all read from GMGN's own documentation. They were read from the GMGN's official documentation index on and re-verified against the live app. Exchanges change their schedules, so treat any figure older than that date as needing a fresh check — the date above is the one to compare against.

Frequently Asked Questions

GMGN publishes its documentation as a GitBook site at docs.gmgn.ai/index, titled GMGN Tutorial, with a Chinese version behind the language switch in the top bar. Its machine-readable index at docs.gmgn.ai/index/llms.txt listed 64 pages when we read it on October 26, 2026, and adding .md to any page URL returns that page as Markdown. GMGNGuide is an independent site, not GMGN's documentation.

Yes, for trading. GMGN documents an Agent API that needs a key pair you generate yourself and an API key created on gmgn.ai, plus MCP and Skills tooling and an npx gmgn-cli command. As read on October 26, 2026, it listed Solana, BSC and Base as supported chains. GMGN's Q and A page says it has no plan to open a general data API at present, and offers a data crawling IP whitelist to trading partners instead.

No. GMGNGuide is an independent third-party publication with no relationship to GMGN. This page links to GMGN's own documentation and adds plain-English explainers next to it. When the two disagree, GMGN's live documentation and app are the authority, and we update this page when we find a difference.

Not as of October 26, 2026. None of the 64 pages in GMGN's documentation index covers its perpetual futures section. The rules for it sit in two separate documents on gmgn.ai, the Perpetual DEX Terms of Service and the GMUSDC Terms, and GMGN publishes no perpetuals fee schedule in its docs.
