The full message reads "Operation is not allowed after high risk behavior," and it usually turns up when you try to move funds out of a GMGN wallet on https://gmgn.ai. It sounds like an accusation. Most of the time it is a timed lock that GMGN places on an account right after a security change, and it lifts by itself.
GMGN does not explain the message anywhere public. So this page sticks to what can be checked: the withdrawal holds in GMGN's documentation, the restriction types and lock messages built into GMGN's own web app, and what GMGN's terms say it can do to an account. Where GMGN says nothing, we say so instead of guessing. Everything below was read on October 14, 2026.
GMGN's web app tracks six restriction types: remote login, password change, binding 2FA, unbinding 2FA, and two kinds of admin unbind. Each one carries an expiry time, and the app's own text for it says the feature "is temporarily locked and will unlock in {time}." If your message shows an unlock time, the fix is to wait until then. If it shows none and nothing changed on your account, contact GMGN support.
What does GMGN say "high risk behavior" is?
It doesn't, in any public document. The exact sentence is not in GMGN's documentation, its Terms of Service or its Perpetual DEX Terms. We also checked the text strings shipped in gmgn.ai's web app on October 14, 2026, and it is not there either. That suggests the wording comes back from GMGN's servers rather than from the app's built-in text, though GMGN has not confirmed it.
What the web app does contain is the machinery around it. The app asks GMGN's account service whether a user "has high risk," and the reply carries a restriction reason and an expiry timestamp. While that timestamp is in the future, the app marks transfers as unavailable and shows one of these messages, quoted from the app's English text:
| When it applies | GMGN's message |
|---|---|
| General high-risk lock | "This feature is temporarily locked and will unlock in {time}. Please try again later." |
| After binding 2FA | "To ensure the security of your account, after binding 2FA verification, the {action} feature will be disabled for 3 hours." |
| After unbinding 2FA | "To ensure the security of your account, after unbinding 2FA verification, the {action} feature will be disabled for 24 hours." |
| New whitelist address | "The whitelisted address is expected to become effective in {time}, during which transfers to this address cannot be made." |
| Newly imported wallet | "Wallets are valid for operations 3h after import. Try again after {time}." |
The app code also lists the restriction reasons themselves: remote_login, change_password, confirm_otp, unbind_otp, admin_unbind_otp and admin_unbind_acct. GMGN does not define those labels. Going by the names, they cover a sign-in GMGN treats as remote, a password change, adding or removing two-factor authentication, and an unbind carried out on GMGN's side. Read that as a description of the code, not as GMGN's policy.
Info
This is app code, not a published rule. GMGN can change it in any release without notice, and it says nothing about restrictions that may be decided on GMGN's servers for other reasons. If your message reads differently from the table above, trust your message.
Which actions start a lock?
Two sources agree on the core of it, with small differences in wording.
GMGN's TG wallet documentation says no withdrawals are allowed until 3 hours after a first-time whitelist setup or a whitelist address change, and that there is a 24-hour withdrawal hold after Google Authenticator re-binding. The web app's text, quoted above, puts 3 hours on binding 2FA and 24 hours on unbinding it, and adds a 3-hour wait before an imported wallet can transfer.
Put together, these are the things to check from the last day or so:
- Did you add, remove or reset Google Authenticator? That is the 3-hour or 24-hour hold.
- Did you set up or change a withdrawal whitelist address? The new address only works after its waiting period.
- Did you import a wallet? It cannot transfer for its first 3 hours.
- Did you change your password, or sign in from a new device, browser or network? Those match the
change_passwordandremote_loginlabels. GMGN publishes no duration for them, so look for an unlock time in the message. - Did support reset your 2FA or unbind an account for you? The two
admin_unbindlabels suggest that a reset done by GMGN starts its own lock.
If none of that happened and you didn't change anything, treat it as possible unauthorized access. Check your Telegram active sessions, change your password from a device you trust, and contact support. A remote-login lock you didn't cause is worth taking seriously, because the whitelist and 2FA are the controls GMGN's documentation puts in front of every withdrawal. The security and custody guide covers how those controls fit together.
How long does it last, and does it lift by itself?
For the holds GMGN documents, yes. They are fixed windows: 3 hours after a whitelist change or a 2FA bind, 24 hours after a 2FA unbind or Google Authenticator re-bind, 3 hours after a wallet import. The app is built to show you the exact unlock time, formatted as a date and clock time, when the restriction has one.
For the other restriction types, GMGN publishes no duration. The app's general message still implies an end time ("will unlock in {time}"), so the first thing to do is read the whole message, not just the first line.
GMGN also doesn't say whether making another security change during a lock starts the clock again. The safe assumption is that it might. Leave your 2FA, password and whitelist alone until the window has passed.

Open GMGNWhat can you still do while restricted?
In the app code we read, the lock is attached to transfers and withdrawals: the check feeds a flag the app calls "transfer available." GMGN does not say whether buying and selling inside the wallet stays open during a lock, and the general message only says "this feature." If a trade fails at the same time, check it against GMGN's error codes for failed transactions before assuming the two are connected. A failed swap with its own code, such as C1 for slippage, is a separate problem.
Withdrawals also sit behind gates that look like a lock but are not one. They only work on the website, never through the Telegram bot. They need Google Authenticator bound first, and funds can only go to a whitelisted address. The wallet funding and withdrawal guide walks through each gate in order.
Can GMGN restrict an account for longer?
Its terms leave room for it. Section 15.2 of the Terms of Service, last updated October 2, 2026, says GMGN "is free to terminate (or suspend access to) your use of the Services for any reason in our discretion," and that GMGN "has the sole right to decide whether you are in violation." The Perpetual DEX Terms, which cover GMGN's perpetual futures, say GMGN may "restrict withdrawals or transfers, limit trading activity or take other measures" for reasons that include "suspected abuse" and "security incidents" (section 11.2), and may restrict or suspend access for similar reasons (section 19.1).
Neither document ties those powers to the high risk message, and neither describes an appeal process. We are not in a position to tell you what your rights are under those terms; if a large balance is involved, a lawyer is.
One point from the terms is worth knowing either way. Section 15.2 adds that if GMGN suspends you, "you may continue to access your Wallet directly or through other services not hosted by us." GMGN's own documentation says private key export is prohibited on all chains, including wallets you imported yourself. Those two statements are hard to square, and the custody guide sets them side by side. Going by the documentation, a hosted GMGN wallet you cannot export is only reachable through GMGN.
What should you avoid doing?
Do not open a new account or wallet to get around it. Section 8.6 of the terms prohibits trying to "bypass or circumvent measures employed to prevent or limit access," and section 15.5 says that if your access is discontinued, you must not try to get back in "through use of a different Wallet, Third-Party Account, member name or otherwise." A new account doesn't free the old balance anyway.
Do not keep toggling security settings. Each bind, unbind or whitelist change matches a restriction type in the app, so repeated changes may just extend the wait.
Do not hand anyone your 2FA code or login link. GMGN's official channels are its website, its X account and its Telegram group, and anyone who messages you first offering to unlock the account is not support.
Do not run unapproved automation against the account. Section 8.8 of the terms prohibits automated means "not authorized by us." GMGN doesn't say this triggers the high risk lock, but it is the kind of activity its terms reserve the right to act on.
How do you contact GMGN support about it?
Section 19.7 of the terms names the in-app Help & Support page, which offers online support, Telegram and email at support@gmgn.ai. GMGN's documentation also lists its official Telegram group, t.me/gmgnai. Send:
- The account or wallet address affected, never the private key or 2FA code.
- The time the message first appeared, with your time zone.
- A screenshot of the full message, including any unlock time.
- Every security change you made in the 24 hours before it: password, 2FA, whitelist, wallet import, new device.
GMGN publishes no response time for account issues. Until it answers, the documented holds above are the best guide to whether waiting will fix it.
The short version
- Read the full message. If it shows an unlock time, wait until then and try again.
- Think back over the last 24 hours: 2FA, whitelist, password, wallet import, new device. Each matches a lock in GMGN's app.
- Change nothing else on the account while you wait.
- If you changed nothing, treat it as a possible break-in and secure Telegram and your password from a trusted device.
- Still locked with no end time? Contact support through Help & Support or support@gmgn.ai, with the details listed above.
- Do not open a second account to get around it.

The durations on this page are GMGN's own: the 3-hour hold after a whitelist setup or change and the 24-hour hold after Google Authenticator re-binding come from GMGN's TG wallet documentation, and the 3-hour and 24-hour 2FA locks and the 3-hour wait after a wallet import come from the English text strings in gmgn.ai's web app. The six restriction labels are quoted from the same app code. The quoted contract language is from GMGN's Terms of Service, last updated October 2, 2026, and its Perpetual DEX Terms. Nothing here is our estimate, and GMGN has published no definition of high risk behavior. They were read from the text strings in gmgn.ai's web app, alongside GMGN's TG wallet documentation and Terms of Service on and re-verified against the live app. Exchanges change their schedules, so treat any figure older than that date as needing a fresh check — the date above is the one to compare against.

Frequently Asked Questions
It means GMGN's account system has put a temporary restriction on your account after a security event. GMGN publishes no definition of high risk behavior. Its web app code, read October 14, 2026, labels the restrictions it tracks as a remote login, a password change, binding or unbinding 2FA, and two kinds of admin unbind, and each restriction carries an expiry time. The app's own message for it reads: This feature is temporarily locked and will unlock in a stated time. Please try again later.
GMGN publishes three specific holds. Its documentation says no withdrawals for 3 hours after setting up or changing the whitelist address, and a 24-hour hold after re-binding Google Authenticator. Its app text says transfers are disabled for 3 hours after binding 2FA, 24 hours after unbinding it, and that an imported wallet can be used for transfers 3 hours after import. For the other restriction types GMGN gives no duration, but the app shows an unlock time when it has one, so read the full message.
GMGN's Terms of Service say you must not bypass or circumvent measures used to limit access to the service, and that if your access is discontinued you must not try to get back in through a different wallet, account or member name. A new account does not move funds out of the restricted one either, because GMGN's documentation prohibits private key export on every chain.
GMGN's Terms of Service name the in-app Help and Support page, which offers online support, Telegram and the email address support@gmgn.ai. GMGN's documentation also lists its official Telegram group at t.me/gmgnai. Send your account details, the time the message first appeared, a screenshot and any security change you made beforehand. Nobody legitimate needs your 2FA code, so treat any direct message asking for it as a scam.
